Ganesh Chaturthi 2026 is Monday 14 September. Every page that ranks for it tells you the muhurat and stops. This one covers the half about money.
FestivalsTeej: the sindhara, and which Teej you actually mean
There are three Teejs and they are months apart. Get that wrong and everything else on this page is wrong for you too, so it comes first.
FestivalsOnam gifting: Onakkodi, and what to send when you cannot get home
Thiruvonam 2026 is Wednesday 26 August. Onam gifting runs on cloth, not cash, which is why the north Indian shagun rules give you the wrong answer.
Questions people ask
›Do they need this website to open it?
No. They tap the link and it opens in whatever browser they already have. Nothing to install, no account, and it works on an old phone.
›I do not have their UPI ID. Can I still send one?
Yes. Tick “no nek this time” and you get a lifafa with no money attached, which you can send on its own. The QR is only made when you actually give a UPI ID.
›How do I get their UPI ID without it being awkward?
“Sending you something, what’s your UPI?” does it. There is no directory to look it up in, for anyone, so asking is the normal thing rather than a failure.
›Do you take a cut of the money?
No, and we could not if we wanted to. The money goes from your UPI app straight to their bank. It never passes through us, so there is nothing to take a cut of.
›Can you tell whether I actually paid?
No. UPI apps do not report back to websites, so we are blind the moment yours opens. That is why we ask you afterwards, and why you can skip the question.
›What if I send it to the wrong person?
Check the UPI ID before you tap pay, because we cannot reverse anything. We show it in full, large, right above the button, for exactly that reason.
›Can I change it after sending?
No, and that is deliberate. If the amount or the UPI ID could be edited later, somebody could send a lovely lifafa around a family group and swap in their own account afterwards.
›How long does the link last?
As long as you want. Email us and we will delete it whenever you ask.
